Final Round
The final round will take place live in Tampere, Finland, on April 26, 2026, with the Winners Ceremony held that evening at the beginning of the Gala Concert. The final round is designed to portray the performer’s overall artistic and technical qualities. Creativity, originality, and musical expression are essential components of this free-choice program, allowing candidates to demonstrate their unique interpretations. Participants should draw inspiration from the theme “Fantasy – from Baroque to Modern,” exploring how the concept of fantasy has evolved across musical eras and styles. Each candidate will present a 40-minute recital featuring works of their choice and must provide a title and description of their program. While the piano and harpsichord are traditional options, candidates are welcome to incorporate other instruments, provided they arrange for their own transportation and associated costs. The use of electronics is also encouraged; however, candidates must be aware that our technicians can only assist with turning devices on and off. We also encourage the inclusion of auxiliary instruments, such as the piccolo, alto flute, or baroque flute, to enhance the overall performance.
Rehearsals in Tampere
The Competition provides piano accompaniment for candidates admitted to the semifinal and final rounds. Only one rehearsal will be possible. Candidates may choose to bring their own accompanists at their own expense.
Jury
The results from each jury member will be reviewed after each live round. More information about how to receive feedback will be provided during the competition.
