Workshop: Mindfulness for Optimal Performance for Musicians

What if we were not only present, stable and aware of everything that happens in our performance, but also able to redirect the stress, anxiety and fear that comes along with it? Experience the power of mindfulness with flutist and mental coach Diogo Soares. In this 45-minute class, specifically designed for flutists competing and taking auditions, you will experience the benefits of mindfulness (e.g. improve focus, build emotional resilience, reduce fear of judgement) and get tips on how to elevate your performance during those critical moments on stage.

Workshop: The Infinity Project

Circular breathing is a technique of playing that allows the sound to sustain for a long time. It requires drawing air quickly in through the nose whilst simultaneously pushing the air collected in your mouth into the instrument. Join Natalia Jarząbek, the creator of “The Infinity Project” and Principal Flute of the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra, in a series of workshops, where you will dive into the history of this unique technique, tips on how to use it, and learn how to master circular breathing in just one weekend. 12 groups of 4 flutists will be assigned during the workshop for 15-minutes of individual instruction.

Can awareness, curiosity and “letting go” be the most important qualities to bring to our performances? In this Mindfulness practice led by flutist and mental coach Diogo Soares, we will explore the role that awareness plays on our creativity and how it can better support our lives (and consequently, careers) with simple, effective and essential lifestyle changes. We will redirect our mindset from a purely natural perspective to a mindset one, and create a balance where everything is interrelated and where our artistic work can contribute to the world more significantly.

The years of work into the innovation known as “Improved Flute Head” has been created by Hungarian flutist Zoltán Lakat and engineer Tamás Horváth. Based on scientific research approved by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, CE Flute Invention gives flutists the possibility to magnify their sound, technique and freedom when performing. Workshop: From Wim Hof to Pelvic Floor

The Wim Hof method proposes that cold exposure combined with periods of hyperventilation and breath-holding can improve health and wellbeing. Though this time around you won’t be diving into freezing water, this workshop will focus on the benefits of Hof’s breathing method and the important role of the function of the pelvic floor. Activate its full potential on your body and mind with specialist Anna Maria Tabaczyńska. This type of breathing technique activates the full potential of the body and mind. It is qualified as meditation and mindfulness practice and is the perfect morning routine and a great way to prepare yourself for the festival day, flute competition or even a rehearsal.

Circular breathing is a technique of playing that allows the sound to sustain for a long time. It requires drawing air quickly in through the nose whilst simultaneously pushing the air collected in your mouth into the instrument. Join Natalia Jarząbek, the creator of “The Infinity Project” and Principal Flute of the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra, in a series of workshops, where you will dive into the history of this unique technique, tips on how to use it, and learn how to master circular breathing in just one weekend. 8 groups of 4 flutists will be assigned during the workshop for 15-minutes of individual instruction.
