REQUIREMENTS

All entrants must be 12-17 years of age by the last day of the festival. Previous First Prize winners of this competition are ineligible to compete.

All entrants must submit their entry, upload videos, supplemental materials, and pay the 55€ non-refundable competition fee by 11:59 p.m. Eastern European Summer Time, Thursday, January 11, 2024. No late applications will be considered. Applicants who wish to receive the 10% discount on the competition fee should become a TFF Member at least 48 hours prior to applying.

  •  A short biography
  • Video (YouTube link)
  • Competition fee

FIRST ROUND

The First Round video should be uploaded on YouTube and the link must be included in the Registration Form.

The program must be recorded in the order listed, and in one continuous, high quality, unedited take. Audio or video editing is prohibited. Videos not meeting this criteria will not be accepted. All pieces with accompaniment must be played with accompaniment.

It is advisable to take into consideration the quality of the video and sound, as well as the recording space, to allow the Jury to have the best possible judgement.

The First Round video is due at the same time as the registration deadline: Thursday, January 11, 2024.

Semi-Finalists accepted will be notified no later than Thursday, February 8, 2024 and should be prepared to provide a short biography and high quality photo, as well as their Semi-Final and Final Round program.

The Final Round should display the performer’s artistic and creative maturity, technical and tonal qualities. The program should reflect a wide variety of styles and/or periods. This may include single movements of works, sonatas, concerti, and solo works.

F.A.Q.

1. Does TFF pay my travel costs?

TFF does not cover travel costs for competitors, but chosen Semi-Finalists get access to all festival events at no cost. 

2. Does TFF provide the scores of the competition pieces?

All candidates are responsible for finding and purchasing their own scores, unless stated otherwise on the program.

3. Can I make cuts between the pieces on the First Round video?

TFF strictly prohibits any audio or video editing. All videos must be recorded in one continuous take and candidates must remain visible at all times.
