Piccolo Competition

The Piccolo Competition is open to candidates 18-30 years of age.

Born in the years 1991-2003.

All entrants must be 30 years or younger by the last day of the festival.




A total of 1,500€, 750€, and 500€ in cash prizes and awards will be awarded to the winners.

Preliminary round videos are due on Friday, February 4, 2022. Videos must be recorded in one single take and in the best quality possible. Editing is not allowed. Videos are to be uploaded on YouTube and shared as a link when filling out the Registration Form. A short biography, photograph and a 55€ non-refundable fee is to be included.

Finalists accepted will be notified no later than two weeks after the deadline. Final videos are due on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Final videos should display the performer’s artistic maturity, technical and tonal qualities. The program should include the required final round work and reflect a wide variety of styles and/or periods. This may include single movements of works, sonatas, concerti, and unaccompanied pieces. It is not necessary to perform all movements of a single work but any individual movement of a work must be performed in its entirety.

Previous first-prize winners of this competition are ineligible to compete.
