Erica Nygård is a Finnish flutist, born in the west coast close to Vaasa. Erica studied at the Tampere Conservatory and the Sibelius Academy of Music, where she graduated with honors in the spring of 2008, and later continued her studies in The Hague. Since 2003, Erica has works as Principal Flute of the Vaasa City Orchestra and actively performs as a soloist and chamber musician. She is the founder of Ensemble Transparent and the flute-organ duo Erica Nygård – Niels Burgmann.
